"If you really want to make a friend, go to someone's house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart." -Cesar Chavez
As Cesar Chavez points out, eating with friends is what this class is ultimately about. Along the way, you will learn to keep a safe and sanitary kitchen, how to prepare 60 different recipes, how to read a food label, how to eat a balanced diet, how to source local, fresh food and how to work as a team in the culinary kitchen. You will work at various tasks from mopping the kitchen and classroom, to doing so many dishes, your hands are wrinkled prunes and you are sopping wet when class ends. If you can keep your sense of humor and do your part in your work group, the work will seem light and the food will always be good!
